This is my 3 year old boy Tui who I am desperately looking for a good home for! He isn't neutered or up to date on shots and was being treated for severe allergies about 6 months ago and is having issues again. I do want to start off by saying he is a GREAT HUSKY! He is the sweetest and his house and kennel broken, although he is the occasional escape artist, whenever he does get out of his kennel he's never destroyed anything. We did however have a time where his head had gotten stuck in the door of the kennel so we now zip tie his door closed so he doesn't seriously injure himself while he's in there. He was raised with cats so is great with cats, he's also good with other dogs as long as they're okay with him, and children. Although we don't feed him table scraps he does like to steal food out of a small child's hand. He is super quiet and laid back for a husky but definitely rather have room to run and play. Now for the reasons for rehoming him, we cannot afford to take care of his allergies and with me and my husband getting new jobs and working 10 plus hours a day it has made it impossible for us to spend the time he needs at home. Please know this has been an ongoing battle on whether or not we should try to rehome him because we love him so much! I will give a little history on what we've dealt with his allergies. It started about a year and a half ago and we thought he had hot spots and was constantly licking and biting himself, but what turned into small patches of hair missing became large patches of hair missing so we ended up taking him to the vet. The vet told us it was definitely allergies and gave us medication and said this could be the last time he has his reaction but if he does, he will have to have an allergy test and possibly allergy shots once a month and that they can be very expensive. My husband and I are trying to start a family and are unfortunately having issues which is causing us to have to go to different doctor appointments which our insurance does not cover, so with this and us recently having to spend thousands of dollars on our home because of septic issues we're not in a very good spot right now and and are not capable of giving him the treatments that he needs. We are trying every home remedy every cream every food that we can think of without spending hundreds of dollars and it just doesn't seem like anything is helping and he has gotten to the point where he is biting all the hair off his back and the top of his tail. I've honestly been trying to wait to see if we can fix the issue a little bit and then rehome him so it didn't look like we were neglecting him but we have been trying everything we can to help him and we just cannot. I have done some process of elimination and found that he is definitely allergic to beef so other than that we feel that he's either allergic to cats are allergic to something outside. We have had our cat prior to getting him so we don't find it fair to get rid of our cats. We would just really love someone who knows how to deal with huskies because they shed a ton and can be hard to handle, but like I said, he is pretty good for a Husky. Most importantly we want someone who can financially take care of his allergy issues and give him the time that he needs. We are wanting to do a rehoming fee for one hundred, idk if that's considered too much but we just want to make sure he goes to a good home
