About Sophie

Meet Sophie, a 2 YO, 65 lbs bundle of love. She's best described as playful, friendly, independent, and energetic when outside, but when she comes in, she's laid back and just wants to cuddle with you on the couch or bed. She's friendly with other dogs, but will stand up to anyone who isn't nice to her. We don't know how she is with cats. She LOVES riding in a car so family day or extended trips would be a plus for her. Sophie is house trained, crate trained, and is doing well on leash training, though she still pulls a little, and she knows the command 'Sit'. She is a chewer so age-appropriate chew toys and lots of exercise are the key to keeping her occupied. She can also jump an 8-foot fence so proper containment is a must if left unattended. Sophie is a very loyal dog and loves to play with her human(s). She is being fostered with other dogs on a beautiful partially fenced-in, 200-acre sanctuary where she loves to run and play with them, run alongside the ATV's, and jump and play in the creek. She does shed so daily combing would help with this. We would recommend an experienced individual or family for Sophie who can give her lots of opportunities to exercise and would do well with a canine companion with proper introductions and older children. As with any new dog, Sophie would need time to learn your routine and adapt to your home and lifestyle. Would you open up your heart and home for this sweet girl?
