About Oatley

Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier
Age: Puppy
Sex: Female

This is Oatley! Oatley was adopted from the Foothills animal shelter, and she is the cutest. She is a hypoallergenic soft-coated wheaten terrier that had a difficult start to life. She came from a puppy mill/ hoarding situation. She is about 1 years old and is spayed. The reality of Oatley is she is very anxious and scared. I have been working on training her and desensitizing her but it has been a difficult journey. She needs someone with experience rehabilitating previously abused dogs. She has made a lot of progress being in a quiet home with me, and has started to be more outgoing. However, I am looking for a new home for her because I do not have the time or routine to devote to her due to my work schedule. She cannot be around other dogs currently as she will growl and snap at them. She is not an aggressive dog, but just extremely unsure. She does not have any leash manners and cannot really be touched, so I have been working on getting her on a slip lead, but she does not like it and cannot go outside right now to go potty. She goes on puppy pads right now in my house. Because she cannot be on a leash or touched, I have not been able to get her groomed. She will probably need to be put on anesthesia to get her next groom. She has potential to be a sweet dog, but I do not have the resources to get her there. I wanted to be honest about her reality to whoever adopts her, so give me a call and we can talk more about her issues and what she might need.
