About Mick Mars

Mars was rescued approximately one year ago from a shelter by my former girlfriend. I have been fostering him for more than 9 months. He is a sweet, loyal companion, who lives with two other dogs, male and female lab mix pups, also fostered. They get along very well, and Mars looks after them. At 90 pounds, Mars may seem intimidating, but approached appropriately upon meeting him, he is your friend for life. Unfortunately, he does have a history of biting... he bit a child on a bike on the hand four months ago as she aggressively approached him during a walk. The child was okay (and he is up to date on his vaccinations), but that disturbed me and I have been actively relaying to others while we are in public, to approach appropriately. This seems to be going well. Mars truly does have a very chill disposition! My mother visited me recently, meeting the dogs for the first time. She is a dog lover, but was a bit hesitant of Mars with his large size. She immediately had no problem with Mars, and he even slept with Nana the first night of her visit. He is loving and loyal and frankly, my best friend. That said, I am suffering from depression and anxiety and will be admitted this week for a 30 day treatment of my illness. Therefore, it is best for Mars to be adopted by someone else who can appreciate his loving, fun personality and other great traits. He was left on the streets and rescued by an animal control agency a year ago. Mars weighs approximately 90 pounds and is very good with both women and men. I hope you'll consider meeting this loyal companion, as he deserves a good home. My 62 year old mother (who also wrote this) is willing to provide testimony about her interaction with Mars and provide an honest summary of his disposition and kind demeanor.
