We don't even know what to say about our sweet Jack'|He has been given up on SO many times it's beyond heartbreaking, totally failed by people repeatedly who can't seem to understand dogs must be allowed to destress, adjust, when coming into a new home and high energy breeds MUST be exercised, daily.. For those of you who don't know Jacks story he was adopted out as a very young puppy to a young family as their first dog. Jack was never allowed to release his energy and was either crated or chained up (inside) 24/7. He came back to us emaciated with no muscle tone, all bones protruding, he would even flinch when you went to pet him. :( Jack then thought he had found his forever home. He had hit the jackpot with a large fenced in yard and even a fur sister %90 . However after months and months of living there and doing so good, looking so good, he suddenly did not get along with the resident cat although he never harmed but pestered, the chase was fun. Jack then went into a loving foster home. He was adored and given endless love %8F. However the home Jack was staying in needed to be sold. Right before Jack was scheduled to go back to our rescue/sanctuary facility as an outside kennel dog he had another foster home step up. This situation wasn't ideal for Jack or the family. But they cared enough to try. Jack was adopted AGAIN. This seemed perfect. Until we received a message Jack had been found running along a busy road with no collar in the heat of the morning hours away from his adoptive home. He was out by himself all night. The finder kept him safe, picked him up from animal control, until we were able to get ahold of Jacks owner who then only stated a few words, Jack was not happy with him and should be rehomed Jack is schedule to be returned at the end of this week to our rescue. While he will be loved and safe there, have dog friends and lots of room to run and never again be given up on, he may also never enjoy the comforts of a home again, something he is already use to, a snuggle on a couch... :( Jack is such a good boy who just needs an adopter who understands he FIRST needs to destress in ANY new home. (3/3/3 Dog Rule. This can be found on google) He MUST be allowed to get use to his new family, surroundings FIRST before being loaded up and hauled all over the place and just thrown with all these new dogs. It is NOT a race. People are so impatient. :( ... At the very least a dog needs a couple of weeks to just chill in the new home before anything is expected of them. Not many seem to understand this although they tell us they do when we go over it. That's ALL this boy needs, someone who will listen, allow him to destress/adjust and also understand he is a working breed and cannot be locked up or contained all day and then expected not to bounce off the walls with energy. He needs an active home, he needs to be able to play and burn energy.. He would thrive in an active home with someone who is home often. He loves love and someone who understands the 3 3 3 dog rule, not only understands it but applies it. Why is Jack not worth that? What is the rush? What is a few short weeks to do things the proper way compared to a lifetime with the perfect dog? To many give up on the most amazing dogs not realizing what they just lost.. Jack is a 1 year old Rhodesian Ridgeback/Lab mix and a whole bunch of other breeds..
