About Nugget

Adoption Fee: $50
Beagle mix
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

We found her wandering on May 23, very skinny and dehydrated. She had no collar and wasn't microchipped - we logged her with Cobb County Animal Control, but haven't heard from them. We think she's around 4 years old and looks to have had a few litters of puppies. She was in heat when she went to the vet for a quick checkup and underweight, so they waited on spaying her. When we started working with her she was VERY food insecure and ravenous with food - but now that she's being feed regularly, she's calmed that down a lot and more of a typical beagle regarding food. We started off feeding her alone and then around our other two dogs (jack russell/beagle mix + pit/hound mix) and she has shown zero food aggression or resource guarding when we moved to feeding in the same room. She's had a general checkup, been bathed/treated for fleas, and has been dewormed. She's been around our dogs (inside the house and out in the fenced yard), and the fosters' dogs and cats (inside the house and out in the yard on their farm) and has been great with all of them - mostly doing her own thing or laying down with them. She's very quiet for a beagle and we've only ever heard her howl when she met some donkeys on a farm. She's an absolute cuddle bug and loves to sit and be pet (and does a very cute grunt when she's being pet). We can't tell if she's been an indoor dog or not. She's perfectly happy hanging outside and doesn't scratch, whine, or bark to come in, but she LOVES to be inside. She'd need some work with potty training, but we haven't had very many accidents. The only note we'd have on her personality is that she needs some work on taking treats/food nicely out of your hand. She's not aggressive in anyway - but she gets so excited she looses her manners a bit. We've been working on it with her and she's had a lot of improvement. She's truly a doll with constantly wagging tale and we'd love to add her to our pack, but between kids, dogs, and gerbils - we're at capacity.
