About Sam

Sam was brought to me on May 25 from San Felipe Pueblo in New Mexico after surviving a severe attack from a pack of dogs. His owner had died a year and a half ago from Covid and the family then turned the dog out of the house to fend for himself after years of being a beloved pet and companion. In the time that I have had him, he has made great progress in his recovery and is learning to trust and be happy again. I have two dogs in my home and although it took Sam some adjusting to trust dogs again, they have all accepted each other and we have a peaceable kingdom. I haven't had Sam around children or cats as of yet but he loves the company of adult humans and seeks their attention. His personality is calm and he seems to prefer to just hang out with his person. Sam has been through a lot since his owner passed and now that he has healed physically, he deserves a new owner to discover the gentle heart inside his battle-worn body.
