About Piper

Adoption Fee: $300
Poodle
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

I am rehoming my BELOVED PIPER! Birth 4/10/2019 (Almost 5 years old) Standard Poodle-Medium size Female 43 pounds Scheduled to be spayed on March 21st (I still plan on taking her for this appointment) Piper is very smart , tender hearted, energetic, gentle and loves affection! Her favorite thing is to have the zoomies and play with her plastic bone. She loves to let her personality shine by rocking different haircuts! She really can pull off any look! She is EXTREMELY gently and will lightly place her paw on your hand when she wants some attention- it's the sweetest thing! She is scaredy pants- if the wind blows just right she trembles with fear and will defecate on herself. It's easy to calm her by saying her name and talking through her anxiety. She dislikes younger children- in her own words she had a 'near death experience with one and has been scared ever since'. (the incident took place when she was 12 weeks old and a small child chased her around until she was backed into a corner yelping and she hasn't liked kids since). Piper does take an anxiety and low sedation medication in order to be groomed due to her high anxiety. She currently resides in a home with a large female dog and medium size cat and they are all the best of friends-since Piper is very skittish of everything I am unsure how she would pair being in a home with an unknown furry friend. Piper needs someone that can spend quality time with her. I work 10 hour days and can tell it is wearing on her mental and emotional state. She is struggling with separation anxiety. It would be selfish of me to keep her when she deserves so much more than I can give. I will not rehome her until I find someone I feel she would be safe and loved with. The person rehoming her would need to complete a questionnaire, I will need to visit your home, have a few meet and greets with her and whoever will be residing in the home. We will need to sign a notarized contract for her placement in case her new home arrangements do not work out. Please no hate: I am in TEARS as I type this. This is one of the hardest decisions I have had to come to. I homed Piper when she was 10 weeks old. It was during an intense season of struggling with infertility to be an emotional support fur baby for us. I am struggling with rehoming her as an acceptance that conceiving may never be in our cards. She deserves someone to give her the time and energy she's given me over the years.
