About Rodeo

Rodeo is a four year old 50% ACD, 50% English Bulldog (confirmed by Embark). She was adopted from the SPCA two years ago, but unfortunately they were not honest about her background and reactivity. I have worked with her for the last two years and she has come SO FAR, but unfortunately I do not feel confident in my ability to provide her with a home where everyone can feel safe. Rodeo has typical cattle dog tendencies and has one known nipping incident (level 2) that occurred when someone got into her space while intoxicated. She gave a quick warning, but did nip on the nose. She also had an incident in her previous home with their yorkie that I do not know the details of. She should NOT be in a home with children or other pets. She has bonded closely with my father who watches her when I travel. She would thrive in a home with a yard and confident male handler, or an older couple who is familiar with cattle dogs / working line dogs and can read (and respect) dog body language. Her reactivity is almost zero when she walks with my father, but I believe she is resource guarding / protecting me (younger female). She really is a sweet, loving dog who deserves a quiet home with a yard where she can truly relax and have her space respected. She is a lower energy cattle dog and would love to just be with her people all day. She is happy to hike with you or lay on the couch, as long as she's with you! I love her so much but unfortunately cannot trust her around strangers and children and feel she would do best in a home where she can avoid these triggers vs needing to be muzzled or crated frequently. She also needs slow introductions to new adults. I am absolutely heartbroken to rehome her and I will be totally transparent about her history, triggers and behavior with anyone interested, which was a luxury not afforded to me by the shelter.
