About Dan

This blue Border Collie is Dan. He is just over a year old and weighs about 35 pounds. Dan is an active and joyful guy looking for an active home. Dan is house and crate trained. He also knows how to use the dog door to let himself out. Dan knows his basic obedience commands. He sits for food and sits for the leash. He knows to give a high five, beg (sit up), and 'toes' to ask him to jump up. He loves tug and fetch, and would make a great performance sports competitor. Dan is also a fan of apples and carrots as snacks. Dan loves people. However, he can be mouthy, so is not a fit for little kids. Dan loves to play with other dogs and should have a home with a dog pal. Dan is good in the car and fine on leash. Dan loves to learn. He figured out the dog door the first time he saw another dog go through. He learned to roll over in both directions in only a few minutes. He likes to snap at flying insects. He even notices when a plane flies overhead. He has the usual BC sensitivity and interest in doing the right thing. Dan would be amazing for performance sports. He wants to be learning and doing. He will appreciate a home who likes to do things with their dogs. For this home, he wants to be a lap dog and will gladly sleep Politely in your bed all night. He also happily sits with you in your easy chair to watch whatever you prefer in tv. Dan is not available to apartment homes. Dan is neutered, microchipped, vaxed, and just has a dental. He is located in SoCal. Adopters must be able to meet and adopt here. A home visit and vet reference are required to adopt.
