About James Bond

James is a large, dapper guy, who was trapped in a feral colony. We believe he was dumped because he has been super friendly from the second we found him in our traps. Plus, he was already neutered. No microchip though. He is just the friendliest guy! He will let you hold him, cuddle him, hug him. He especially likes to be petted on his head, neck and shoulders. He is not a fan of other cats, but might be okay with a slow introduction. He doesn't mind his foster dog, but he will swat her if she gets in his space too much, and he'll growl at her if he catches her looking at him for too long. With humans, he is the perfect cat! He is patient and tolerant, especially of children. Poor James does come with some trauma from his earlier days. Although he is an extremely loving boy, for the first week or so, he will not be used to your home and will not understand that this is now his home too. He will attack when you turn your back on him. We believe this is PTSD from being abandoned. What I did, as his foster, was keep him in one room for a week at first. I would either leave his room while he was eating or simply carry him to the doorway, give him a kiss, tell him goodnight, and put him down inside the room, then close the door. We have NO ISSUES with attacking anymore. It only happens in the beginning when the home is new for him. If you can help James work through his trauma, he will be the perfect companion cat for you.
