Jade is a beautiful girl who has been in shelter since 3/18/24. As hard as we try to make it comfortable for our pets the shelter is no substitution for a home, and it's often pretty stressful here. Jade definitely feels that stress! She's often tense, and she's still learning to trust people. She finds people walking up to her kennel to be very intimidating if she doesn't know them. This means that she doesn't put her best paw forward and she ends up making a bad first impression. Most people end up just continuing to walk by her. She's much more confident and relaxed outside of her kennel. She definitely knows what a leash is. As soon as you show one to her she'll calm down and wait for you to put it on her. She's happy to amuse herself when loose in the yard by smelling everything around her. She's too nervous to take treats from your hand, but she will let you pet her! When it's time for Jade to return to her kennel, all that stress comes back to her. We're sure she'd fare much better in a cozier environment. Jade is a 1YO Pit Bull who came into the shelter on 3/18/24. She weighs 36 lbs.
