About Dobber

Dobber is a big boy who has high energy and is very loving. He is pack oriented and can adapt to a routine. He has had some training but is very high energy. Very easily distracted. High prey drive. Would be a great hunting/searching dog. His DNA test revealed a mix breed of 50% Bluetick Coonhound, 24% Treeing Walker Coonhound, 14% Redbone Coonhound, 4% American Foxhound, 4% Bloodhound. He weighs around 75 pounds and is in good health and up-to-date on vaccines. Needs a yard with higher than 4 foot fence as he can clear that with one jump. Also he is very excitable around children--his demeanor is the same with children as it is with squirrels or groundhogs: he just cannot settle himself down around them and several trainingswe have tried has not helped. This is a case where our hearts were bigger than our ability to train and manage Dobber's prey drive and energy. He is very lovable but far too much for us to give him a life he deserves.
