About Toast

Adoption Fee: $400
Catahoula / Dalmatian
Age: Puppy
Sex: Male

Meet Toast, the happiest dog ever (just in case his smile in his first photo didn't give that away)! This adorable, 1 year old Catahoula mix transferred to Diamond's Friends Pet Rescue after being found as a stray over on Maui. He's about 40lbs, neutered, microchipped, and up to date on all his vaccines! He's also housebroken and great in a crate! Toast LOVES everyone and everything! Going to the dog park to socialize with the dogs and people is his one of his favorite things to do. In fact, he's quickly becoming a bit of a celebrity at the Newport Beach Dog Park, and many of the regulars let out cheers of 'Toast!' and shower him with love when he comes through the gates. It's the sweetest thing! This guy loves to play with toys as much as he loves cuddle time and getting neck scratches from his people. He is such a lovable pup! Beyond that, he's also a total goofball. It's not uncommon for him to fall off of a bed or run into a wall because he's a total derp dog. We've never had a pup make us laugh so much! Toast has a lot of energy and would do best in a home that can get him out for lots of adventures. He'd also love someone who can keep taking him to the dog park because that's one of his favorite places in the world. In terms of training, Toast knows hand signals for sit, down, come, and stay (although he may only follow through on the command if treats are involved, he wants to get paid for his work!). He's also in the process of learning recall training using a remote collar. The reason for the hand signals and collar is that he is totally deaf! He doesn't want that to deter you from considering making him part of your family. It just means that instead of talking to him with your voice, you'll communicate with your hands. He'd love to have someone in his life that will continue his training and help him be the most awesome dog ever. If you are interested in adopting Toast, please fill out an adoption application on our website. While we'd love to keep Toast in the Orange County area (we have a local trainer here who can help set you and him up for success), we are open to considering committed, loving families outside of the Orange County area.
