Astrid is a typical 1.5 year old, 55-60-ish pound, Labrador Retriever - she's spunky, energetic, friendly, sweet and very trainable/food motivated. She is potty trained, crate trained, rides well in the car and is familiar with good behavior in the house. She currently lives with other dogs of all sizes, and cats, and does fine with both, although she can be quite playful and mischievous so would not be a good match for older/calmer pets that do not want to play frequently. She walks nicely on leash if leash rules are implemented, and is very active so would require daily exercise to manage her energy levels properly. She can be a bit shy/unsure of new people/places initially, but warms up quickly especially if treats are involved, and quickly becomes animated and outgoing in known environments. Astrid is due for her annual vaccines, and is not spayed so her new family would need to commit to her spay surgery after adoption. She is up to date on flea/tick/heartworm preventatives, and there is no adoption fee to the right home. Astrid has been in a home for the past year learning house manners and some dog behavior basics, but now is ready to find a home that is ready to welcome her into their family.
