Chex, along with three other dogs came from a pretty terrifying situation. What you see in the pictures below was Chex's life EVERY DAY! If you're not sure what you're looking at, I'll explain. He lived in a small wire kennel outside where he ate, slept AND used the bathroom. This wasn't just a temporary holding area for him either'| this was literally every hour of every day. His water was never cleaned, just filled back up. He was drinking his own urine + whatever else fell into that bucket . What you can't see is that his lead is also tied to the gate of the crate, making his tiny little world even smaller so he 'wouldn't make so much noise' when he moved around inside the crate. Not only did he live in filth, but majority of the crate was covered with pieces of wood so he couldn't even look out at the world around him. ?? It's safe to say that Chex has lived a lonely, sad life. Any human living in this situation would have come out violent and angry, but Chex doesn't know any of those emotions. All he seems to be able to feel is joy and love for life. Since coming to the shelter, he is just so happy. For him, the concrete floors are heaven compared to where he came from.. Surprisingly , he is just so dang loving. Loves other dogs, loves people, and even likes kids! He's been deprived for so long that he just wants to find what he's been missing which is LOVE. Chex is around 50 lbs and a year old. He has been vaccinated, treated for internal/external parasites and has tested positive for heartworm disease
