Meet adoptable Sheeba! This girl has had a hard life prior to coming to the shelter. Her along with three other dogs were seized from her previous owner due to neglect. Before she came to us, she spent all of her life on a short chain in what can only really be described as a mud pit. Sheeba is living proof of what can happen when irresponsible pet owners choose not to alter their dogs because at only three years old, she has had two litters of puppies AND is a grandma! Thankfully, we were able to get her out of that situation and she will never have to raise puppies or fend for herself ever again. Sheeba is a silly girl who is trying to make up for all the love she missed out on in her first few years of life. She adores people and never hesitates to give a big hug to any newcomers who may come her way. Sheeba is also dog friendly despite being pretty isolated from others for most of her life besides when she has a litter of puppies to take care of. When we first met her, she was terrified and completely shut down to everything, but now she is probably the most outgoing dog in our care besides her grandson, Chex, who is also with us! We think she would make a fine fit for a home with kids, or not! She's happy to be apart of a big family or a small one as long as she gets loved out of it. Sheeba is three years old and weighs 47 pounds. She has been vaccinated, treated for internal/external parasites and has tested positive for heartworm disease which she will need treatment for eventually. Sheeba has already been spayed thanks to a kind sponsor!
