About Miss Lola

Pit Bull
Age: Adult
Sex: Female

Lola is a darling itty bitty pittie in need of a forever home. At just 40 pounds, she's a compact dog that won't hog up the couch. As a devoted and sweet girl, Lola would be a welcome addition to a loving family, including one with active kids. She LOVES children. To characterize Lola in one word, we'd say AFFECTIONATE! She's been a doll for her foster family, and has a special connection with her four-year-old foster sister. Lola is a nice house-mate who is respectful of her home, polite, flexible, and visitor-friendly. She is very well house-trained and while she does not need to be crated, she sleeps in her crate at night. Lola is a pretty good leash walker, but has a tendency to pull a little bit on her leash. We believe with a harness this can be easily corrected. Lola has one special need, but don't let it dissuade you from adopting her! As a diabetic Lola needs insulin twice per day. You will be taught all you need to know and do, and before long giving her injections will be a normal part of your daily routine. Let her show you just how good a girl she is when it is time for her insulin. (Lola is currently wearing a temporary glucose monitor to determine the optimal insulin dose.) Lola is generally indifferent to other dogs, but we prefer she be the only pet because she is possessive about her food and can get very testy about sharing. Otherwise she can be around other dogs, just keep treats out of the picture! To learn more about Lola, please fill out an adoption application by copying and pasting the following link into your browser: http://bit.ly/2JnZqK5 Once it is reviewed, someone will contact you! PLEASE tell them Animal Rescue Konnection sent you! Notes from her rescue: Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so we must guess breed(s). More importantly, we get to know each dog as an individual and describe them based on personality, not by breed label. We expect adopted dogs and their owners to enroll in formal dog training. Obedience and training classes are an excellent way to learn more about your newly adopted dog, gain handling and training experience, and improve your relationship with your pet.
