About Ace

Everyone who meets Ace loves him, because he is such a sweet boy and full of personality! He's a great breed ambassador and I've had so many ppl over the years say 'I used to be scared of 'pits' but he's so sweet'. He talks a lot when he greets people for sure. He's never really been around kids so I don't know how to rank his kid savvy nature but the couple he has been around seemed to make him a little unsure so I would say it's best he not be around real little kids. When I foster puppies he is my official nanny dog though; he has so much patience and looks after all of them. The issue for Ace is my other adult male; the vast majority of the time they cuddle and are awesome together but over the past couple of years they have had incidents of fighting. This has been because of high stress/anxiety with the aggressive dogs barking at the fence next door, over food or at one time a favorite toy. I have made a lot of changes over the years to try to mitigate but these rare incidents have still happened and it feels the right and safest thing for them both is to find a more appropriate home where Ace can be an only dog. He has not had issues with dogs otherwise and has played great with the few he's met but out of an abundance of caution I want to find him a home where this is never something he needs to worry about again. Ace does crate when I am not home as he will eat things he's not supposed to (hair ties are a favorite) but he loves his crate and it will go with him to his new home. Ace is fully vaccinated and fixed. I will be very picky about a home for my boy; he needs love and deserves a lot of attention and space to play, so someone who is home often with a backyard is a must. He loves to hike or play fetch also but when it's not time to play he's very chill. He also loves swimming, not what you expect with his breed. This is an extremely difficult decision and I am in no rush, but I pray a more appropriate but just as loving home is out there for my boy. I will def ask for vet and personal references and a home visit
