About Maya

Maya is a 6-year-old female Saint Bernard who was born on 2/10/2018. She has been a great dog but unfortunately as she gets older she is getting more and more anxious around the kids. She has NEVER bitten anybody but has begun nipping at the younger kids even if they aren't doing anything. She's not really food aggressive but if the kids bump into her or walk too close to her she's started to get more defensive. She also barks very aggressively at anyone who walks by the house or walks up to the door, but is usually quick to calm down once someone comes inside. She is not good with other dogs but was raised with a cat and is okay with them. She would do great in a house with older kids or no kids, and preferably being the only dog unless someone has time to work with her on that. She loves to run (but has never jumped a fence), so a good sized yard or some land would be amazing for her. She's also good on a leash, and loves to swim. She loves to cuddle too and likes car rides and treats. It is not easy for us to have to do this but unfortunately we feel we are unable to provide Maya the appropriate environment for her to live out her golden years and are hoping to find her a place she can do that.
