About Smokey

This gorgeous boy is Smokey. He is just over a year old and weighs 60 pounds. He was saved from under a car at 6 weeks old by his owners. Now, Smokey's family is heartbroken with landlord issues that led them to have to give him up. Smokey is smart and already knows: Sit, paw, leave it, stay, come, nudge, and down. He also waits while you fill his bowl with food and then proceeds to eat. Smokey is good on leash and good in the car. He loves to fetch and play with a herding ball. He may be too much dog for little kids. Smokey might be best in a neighborhood without tons of car and foot traffic, since like many herders he can get excited about things that move. He would relish an active home that includes nature walks and hikes. Smokey is best as an only dog. He does walk past other dogs politely if given space. Smokey is an intelligent boy and loyal. He is loving, playful with herding instincts. He loves belly rubs and loves to sit on your lap.
