About Telly

Telly is a 7-year-old intact male Rottweiler. My ex-husband adopted him as a puppy from a friend who had a purebred breeding pair, but he never put in any work to train or socialize him. Telly has been stuck outside in a small backyard by himself, and he needs to find a better home. My ex-husband left him behind when he moved out, and I cannot train him or socialize him, myself. Telly used to have part-time companionship with my older female dog, but she has since passed away. I'm not sure how he would interact with other dogs, but he mostly ignores them when I am able to take him on walks. He's well-behaved on a harness and leash. He has killed one of our pet cats that accidentally got into the backyard, though, and he growls at children -- true growls, not Rottweiler noises. I cannot trust him around my kids. I do not want to keep him locked up this way, and I do not want to risk his evaluation at a shelter. Telly is friendly, affectionate, and submissive with me, my ex (who is no longer around), and another adult female that knows him well. I can grab his feet and push him around to get him into a harness, and he does not get aggressive with me, but he is not trained at all. He wants to be a good boy, but he needs a chance! PLEASE, SOMEONE JUST GIVE HIM A BETTER HOME!
