About Odie

Meet Odie! This handsome and happy boy is looking for a new loving home to call his own! Odie came to the shelter with his dog 'brother' who has already been adopted! Their owner was moving and couldn't take them along unfortunately. He isn't letting this temporary setback get him down, though! Odie is a 5-year old neutered male Border Collie / Lab mix. He has the happiest smiley face and a wiggly wagging body that makes everyone a big fan of him at the shelter! He is medium/large sized, but he may think he's a lap dog as he loves to cuddle up with humans. Nothing makes Odie happier than a game of fetch, and he will gladly retrieve a tennis ball for as long as you are willing to throw it! He's a very smart boy, he knows commands like 'sit', 'lay down', 'paw' and 'roll over'! Odie has lived with another dog and has made dog friends in the past. He needs a bit of encouragement and slow introductions to new dogs before he is comfortable being his silly self. He may potentially be able to live with another dog who is a perfect fit after meet-and-greets at the shelter; however, the staff believe he would be happiest as an only pet. Odie would do well in a home with a family with teens and/or older children or with adults only.
