About Pitbull

Our dog is a 6-year old Staffordshire Bull Terrier that goes by the name 'Pitbull.' We adopted him when he was just under a year old. He was very timid and showed signs of aggression early. We could tell that he had been severely abused by his previous owners, and never socialized. As a puppy, he was only around or familiar with the people in our household- myself, my partner, my daughter (who was 7 at the time), and our older miniature poodle. Over the years, he has become almost a completely different dog, becoming more affectionate and calm, and overall just a playful sweet boy. He is a complete softy in the house. Although, he is still very protective of me, especially (he does not leave my side) and becomes very nervous if there is yelling or loud noises. He still does show signs of aggression when it comes to certain things, like food, his area, and his space, and dogs outside. He is not a fan of strangers, however when properly introduced, he becomes familiar and submissive and we do not have any problems moving forward. We have safely introduced many people to him- That is why I believe rehoming is still an option. We also have a one-year old Pitbull female, who was introduced to him when she was just a few months old after many weeks of slowly letting them into each other's space. Now they are the best of friends- They cuddle, they play. He has coexisted with both of the dogs in our home with no issues whatsoever. Pitbull loves the outdoors- walks, sunbathing, trails, running, being active. He loves being lazy in his bed and playing with his Pitbull sister. He loves hanging out with my daughter, while she puts on her makeup (she is 12 now). He loves cuddling with Mom and getting head rubs. He loves being around the people he loves.
