About Josey

JOSEY is a 16 week old, 18 pound mixed breed pup (we believe Boxer mix) who was found as a stray and surrendered to us. We are guessing she is going to be a medium sized dog fully grown. JOSEY arrived at our gate right before a bad storm held by a gentleman who had no idea what to do with her. She had shown up in his yard, covered with fleas, and he didn't want to leave her out in the weather. Josey is an affectionate, happy little girl. She greets people with kisses and a wagging tail and loves to snuggle. She is good with most other dogs, but bigger, bouncy dogs can scare her and she will bark at them. She is going to be happiest in home with dogs that are in the 20 to 40 pound range. We think she would be best with another dog in the home but it's not required for the right family. She loves to run and play and explore the yard but usually sticks close to her person. Since she is an energetic puppy we would love for her to have a home with a fenced yard and an active family. She will sleep pretty much anywhere at night, but she's a snuggler who would love to be in bed with you! Josey has been to the vet for a wellness check, is up to date on shots, spayed, fecal tested, and microchipped with a lifetime registration. MORE about JOSEY: Not cat tested. Good with older kids. Doing well with potty training. Likes: riding on lawnmowers. Dislikes: big scary dogs. *We are located in Pensacola Florida. Puppies, dogs with pending vet appointments, and dogs with behavioral issues are only adoptable within a 1 hour drive to Pensacola. Most others we will consider within a 5-hour drive. We do not ship or transport our dogs. *We are a foster-based rescue and do not have a facility. Our dogs live in private homes in and around the Pensacola area until they are adopted.
