About Pax

Australian Cattle Dog
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

About Pax: First off the ideal home for pax would be someone who: Will be willing to work with a trainer during the transition process if anxious behaviors get out of hand. Has a backyard or land. No kids. Is active or has the time to keep him exercised. Breed experience or dog experience. Will be able to commit to take 6 months to let him acclimate. Can take him the first week of July or month of July. If you fit these, keep reading! He is the most loyal and smart dog and wants to please you. He is not good when strangers approach him but he is a very loving boy once you are in his pack. I took him out in public all the time and had a do not pet tag on him and he was fine with people around him as long as they did not try and pet him. He looooves the doggy park where there are trails and other furry friends running around. It is easy for him to make a friend. (he is weary of huskies he's been attacked before). He is unpredictable with kids so I do not suggest being around kids at all and if needed he needs to be on a leash. He knows lots of tricks and can be taught new ones fairly quickly. He has separation anxiety and seems like it is heightened during the rehome process so patience and work towards this is important. He made me laugh several times a day being his goofy self. Reason for Rehome: I got paxxy when he was 4 months and needed to rehome him after 3 years due to life circumstances. He is currently with the family he was rehomed too. He is presenting new anxious behaviors during the transition phase and new guarding behaviors. They have not consulted a trainer as far as I know so I don't know how permanent these behaviors are or if it is only environmental. You can ask me for their number to get more insight. I am helping to find him a new home that will need to be his permanent home as he is already an anxious dog and another rehome after this would cause too much trauma to him.
