About Sage

Sage, a 3-4yr pit/terrier mix, and her brother lived with their owner for several years before, following multiple dog at large complaints and pickups by local authorities, the owner surrendered Sage claiming she was too high energy for him and he could not keep weight on her. It is suspected that in the month in between her last visit to the shelter and her surrender, that the owner was attempting to starve her to death as she lost a significant amount of weight, after already being well under weight. Sage has been with her foster family for the last two and a half months. She has had no problem putting on healthy weight. She is a sweet, affectionate baby with a huge personality. She loves to play and be the center of attention and loves to cuddle. She would do phenomenal in an active household with probably no more than one other dog. She gets along with all different sizes and breeds of dogs, and cats as well, but she also loves to be the center of attention. She is crate trained and excellent on a leash, however her house manners need some work as it has become apparent she was not worked with much as a puppy. She is also currently set up for her spay and vaccination appointment through barnwell county animal shelter.
