Piper has grown leaps and bounds since she has been exposed to the world! She came to me afraid of everything. Now instead of barking at people we encounter outside - she sits (almost) on the ground and swishes her tail back and forth very fast hoping they will come and greet her! She is good on leash but still needs brought to heel. She tends to walk quickly when first out the door, but settles down after completing her business. She can be resource guarding of food and occasionally will let you know she does not want to be picked up or moved or even snuggled too tightly. Basically, give her a bit of distance at times as we need ourselves. Piper is still not sure of other dogs but has ventured to a few to say a quick, calm hello. She should not be placed with cats or any other small animals. She would probably do best as an only dog or might tolerate a male close to her size and breed. Piper is house and crate trained. She loves attention but is not a Velcro dog. She is an excellent dog and the perfect example of how encouragement, understanding, acceptance and love can change a scared, insecure animal into a loving happy dog. Piper is located in Naples.
