About Oakley

Oakley is a sweet boy that is full of love, After a long day, he willingly heads to his crate to sleep for the night. He wants to be near people and always greets them with a sniff and a kiss. He will gently give you his paw, rest his head in your lap or lay at your feet. Oakley loves going on car rides, walks to the park and playing with teen-aged kids. One of his favorite things he loves is swimming in the pool and he will go for a swim at any opportunity; so we are looking for a home for Oakley with a pool. He also needs to be the only dog. Lawn mowers, motorcycles and fireworks make him anxious. He is reactive to other dogs when on leash which is the biggest issue for him. Oakley can be possessive of toys and food. We are working with the LR trainer and Oakley has made positive progress. Oakley will require continued and consistent training to further build on his success. Oakley's basic commands are being reinforced too and he is a good student. He does well with sit, wait, down and leave it. He is still learning recall. If Oakley has the chance, especially if there is something outside he wants to investigate he will dash out the door. Oakley loves children but is unaware of his size and can be awkward and clumsy and inadvertently knock little ones over; so Oakley needs a home with no young children..
