About Winnie

Winnie is a kind soul who needs all the love she can get and is available for adoption or foster. This pitbull mix is charming and smart. She's responsive to training and loves people. Between chasing balls and going on leisurely walks, Winnie enjoys spending time with people and even gives hugs when she gets the chance. This beautiful girl was picked up in a wooded area in Fitchburg on March 1st. She had a torn lip, which was of unknown origin, and she had to spend the last three months on rabies quarantine, which she will be finished with at the end of June. It is believed that Winnie was being used as a bait dog; because of this, she has old scars on her face and body. This poor sweetheart has been through a lot but has finally started learning how to be a normal, happy dog. Winnie thrives on companionship and would be happiest with someone who can be with her as much as possible. Regular walks and frequent check-ins when you're not home will be essential. She's not much of a talker but will bark when she feels alone and is still learning not to get into things when left to her own devices. This pup also tends to get hyperfocused on objects, so limiting the use of many objects when playing and training is beneficial. Winnie would do best as your only fur baby. She cannot be in a home with small animals and still needs decompression and training. She is a strong girl, so a home with small children would not fit her best, as she can be a little jumpy. She does great walking on a leash with a harness and doesn't pull unless she sees a squirrel. She takes her time, taking in everything around her and enjoying the outdoors. Winnie has the potential to be a loyal and sweet companion for anyone. She's very friendly and caring and would love to play catch with you or just cuddle next to you on the couch.
