Aussie Rescue of the Mid Atlantic is pleased to accept foster to adopt applications for Brady. Brad is a VERY handsome, VERY big 65 pound black tri Aussie. Brady is being offered as foster to adopt because he needs training, which ARMA will provide. At only 3 years old, Brady has bounced around a lot. An irresponsible breeder allowed an elderly inactive couple to purchase Brady as their pet. Within a year, one owner died, and two years later the second owner was placed in memory care. Brady received vet care and affection, but little else. A family member placed Brady in a home, but it was not a fit - Brady does not do well with children. Finally, to keep Brady from going to a shelter, a neighbor who knows and adores Brady stepped in and contacted ARMA. Brady is VERY affectionate. He LOVES his humans and he LOVES attention. For a dog that has had little socialization, he's remarkably well adjusted in many ways. But he can be reactive in public places and he is a jumper and nips when he jumps - a TERRIBLE habit. Brady will need consistent training and a dedicated owner to overcome these behaviors. Brady is neutered and up to date on his vaccinations. In his current foster home, Brady loves to play fetch and gets along well with other dogs. Because he's currently overweight, he doesn't have the stamina of a typical 3-year-old Aussie, but once he gets down to his ideal weight, we have no doubt he will be super active. Brady's perfect foster to adopt home is one with an owner that is committed to Brady and his training. Brady will excel with a patient and dedicated owner willing to introduce him to activities from hiking to agility to nose work. Keep in mind that as a young Aussie, Brady needs to exercise his body and mind, so just a walk around the block or a couple of games of fetch in the yard is not enough for Brady. Because Brady is a foster to adopt candidate, ARMA will pay for all vet care and training until all parties feel he's ready for adoption. If you're an approved ARMA adopter and think you can provide Brady with a perfect home, contact the ARMA volunteer with whom you've been working. If you'd like to become an approved ARMA foster to adopt, please visit our website and apply. ARMA requires you to provide a vet reference and have a home visit. If your current or past companion animals are not UTD on vaccinations, you will not be approved to adopt.
