PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE BIO ON THIS DOG BEFORE REQUESTING AN APPLICATION. MANY OF OUR DOGS HAVE STRICT REQUIREMENTS FOR THEIR ADOPTION. 10-month-old male Terrier mix, about 10 pounds. Meet Teddy, a young adorable terrier! He is still a puppy who is very low shed. He's food motivated which is great for training-he's learned to sit for treats in one training session. He will always sit for treats (if you ask him to) no jumping up for food allowed! He's great in a crate: during work and he sleeps in a crate at night without incident and without accidents. Also, because he's a puppy, he loves to play!! He loves to play fetch with a ball or squeaky toy that he will return to you endlessly so you can work on your pitching arm! He would love another young doggie friend to play with him. He likes to chew on appropriate toys which is always appreciated in my house! At this point in time, he is not a lap dog. He is fun, feisty and sweet, will sit in your lap for a few minutes to let you pet, cuddle and kiss him but then he has other things to do!! A true puppy, sometimes he tries to mouth play /nip at sleeves, etc. and needs verbal correction. He likes stimulation and attention and an occasional cuddle. He will bark at unknown noises like a true terrier. If you're willing to provide the training, consistency and attention, Teddy might be a good fit for you and/or your family. Smidget Rescue is not a shelter, and dogs cannot be seen at the Rescue location. All dogs are fostered throughout the Puget Sound area and are brought to the events where they can be met by prospective adopters. Puppies are adopted with a refundable spay/neuter deposit (in addition to the adoption fee) and adopters are required to get their puppy to our vet for their pre-scheduled spay-neuter appointments. You must live within a three-hour radius of Seattle, WA, (such as Portland, Vancouver B.C., etc.), so we can arrange for a home visit. If your home seems like a great fit for the dog you would like to adopt, you must then drive to meet the dog at one of our weekend events or at the fosters home.
