About Lucci

Lucci (Lu-chee) is a friendly, eager-to-please 4.5 year old Vizsla/GSD mix who loves to cuddle and play ball more than anything in the world. He has a lot of energy and would love a big yard and perhaps a dog companion or two. Lucci has never met a human or dog he doesn't like - he is especially fond of small dogs and knows how to be gentle with kids. He would flourish with an active couple or family. He is a healthy boy, though he does require a gluten free diet due to his German Shepard stomach. He has been prescribed anxiety medications in the past (though not currently) and occasionally experiences anxiety in crowded spaces. He has become much more tolerant as he's gotten older and lots of exercise will turn him into a sleepy lamb. He was the runt of his litter and is on the smaller side for a GSD mix (50 lbs) and more closely resembles his Vizsla dad in terms of looks and snuggliness. He becomes very attached to people quickly and can act protective of his pack, but is ultimately a submissive dog who shows his belly in the face of 'danger'. He's a great hiking dog and will never stray from your side too long if he's off leash. He's very intelligent and loves to learn new words and commands. He's recently learned to retrieve some of his toys by name! We're very sad to have to part with Lucci - he's been the best dog we could ask for. However we think he would be better off with someone with a bigger space and more time to spend with him. We're located in Portland but are willing to come to you if the fit is right. We would require that Lucci's new family have a home with a backyard. Someone with an active lifestyle would be preferable - big bonus if you enjoy hiking or like playing fetch.
