[Read About Natural Incontinence Care] Smokey is a 3-to-4-year-old pit bull. He slipped a disc in his spine as a puppy, and his hind legs were paralyzed. After some steroid injections and several months, he is now able to walk again, staggered, but nonetheless, he no longer needs steroids. Due to his injury, he was not potty trained, and now suffers from some incontinence. As a result, he has spent his life outside and isolated. Each day he waits patiently in his dirt yard outside the sliding glass back door, hoping to one day come inside. Smokey is not a case of a disabled dog who needs expensive medication and round-the-clock care, nor is he a dog who has been given chance after chance and no one can help him. This is just a dog who needs a little bit of extra help. Smokey has hardly been given a chance, due to his owner's circumstances. He is absolutely NOT a lost cause. He is brimming with potential, very friendly and loving, and refuses to give up on himself. Smokey is neutered and gets along well with other animals, including cats. In the hands of a willing and loving owner, Smokey will absolutely be able to live as a normal dog again. My heart aches for Smokey. His owner knows he cannot continue living this way, and was ready to euthanize him before I convinced him to let me try to rehome him. This dog does NOT need euthanasia - he needs a better home. He is not suffering due to his injuries - he is suffering due to improper care. All Smokey needs is patience. Someone who can show him that this life is not cruel, it's worth living and that this is not his fault. Someone who won't lose their temper if he knocks into a wall or falls over, pees a little when he walks, or chews on a shoe. This baby has not been given the life he is owed. Smokey has so so so much love to give, and needs to be loved back. Please help me find a home for him before it is too late. It won't let me paste the video, but my YouTube channel is 'Saving Smokey', I have 2 videos of Smokey playing so you can get a good look at how he walks with his hip dysplasia. youtube.com/@SavingSmokey/shorts
