Hi I'm Frankie but that wasn't always my name. A long time ago I lived with people who hurt me and treated me bad. They called me Derp because they said I was stupid. Back then, I thought that was true. Even the other dogs in the house were mean to me. They'd steal my food and come after me all the time. I still have scars. One day they left me at a shelter and told the lady there how worthless I was. She must have believed them because I ended up on death row but then before they could kill me a woman came along and she saved me. I think she was an angel. But anyway, That's how I ended up here at the kennel and I been here for 3 1/2years. I know this place isn't like a home. I've heard homes are warm, cushy places that sometimes smell like food cooking and you can lay on a soft squishy pillow when you sleep and have a person to snuggle with at night after taking great walks in the day. The kennel isn't like that but I know these people here love me. They stuck by me. When I came in I was a mess. I had sores all over my body and my anxiety was so bad I was uncontrollable. I was always waiting for the next bad thing to happen to me like in my other life. I was afraid of men and other dogs because I knew what they could do. So scared'|.The people here got me vet care for my wounds and meds so I wasn't that scared anymore. The lady at the kennel feeds me everyday and gives me my anxiety pill. She says when I get a home and a person to call my own, I probably won't need it anymore. Sometimes she gives me a bath and lets me snuggle to her. There's a guy who always gives me lots of treats so now I know that all men aren't mean. He taught me to walk by other dogs without being afraid and even though I wouldn't want to live with another dog, now I can walk by one on the street. He taught me all my commands so I'm not stupid anymore. Now they call me Frankie. The people here changed my name and changed my life. They care about me and now I know I'm worth it. Frankie is a 4 year old Bulldog mix who is obedience trained. See his videos in the comments section. He is neutered, has his vaccinations and is heartworm negative. Because of his past, he would do best in a home where he is the only pet and can be his person's best bud.
