IN GRAVE DANGER!!!! Video: https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=pfbid0aGskcD3uAyRvaD3nd4pFSjK4TM3P1at99BsHwz4b9Wbx2ciALsv1pZ9g6jbuKX2Bl&id=100002876848303 She has been in the shelter TWO HUNDRED AND SIXTY ONE long days and yet she remains loving, friendly and optimistic. Meet adorable SNOWBALL who is an 82 lb, 8 year NOW spayed Alaskan Husky. I should note that the email alert says 64 lbs (?). This BEAUTIFUL dog with the winning smile and gorgeous eyes is on the SCARY Orange Alert list at East Valley, a deadly shelter in Los Angeles, SoCal. Our good dog Snowball came in as a filthy, unspayed 'stray' (read DUMPED) last August. She had a mass on her right carpus yet it didn't seem to bother her. But then it started getting bigger. And then she was put on dreaded Orange Alert. Then just in April a Good Samaritan PAID for her to go to an outside vet and have the mass excised and biopsied and also have a dental. When they did the bloodwork it was found that Snowball was suffering from pancreatitis, she had never shown any outward signs, yet I thought I should include that. She is SUCH a stoic doggy. The mass because of its location was not completely excised but mostly. The mass was a grade one soft tissue sarcoma. I know what you all are thinking; cancer. But this is the type of cancer that is not likely to metastasize and with careful monitoring of recurrence (one would just keep removing it) Snowball IF she gets out of the shelter should have a long and healthy life. And after all THIS, after all the monotonous days in the shelter, Snowball remains GOLDEN. Please see the fantastic video in the thread. Her behavior notes are a dream. She has even been in playgroups and has done great (always introduce new dogs under supervision and responsibly). This affectionate dog has a penchant for hotdogs, has a fun little hop, does zoomies and also loves to chill. Snowball is a volunteer and staff favorite BUT they cannot protect her forever. Our Snowball deserves ALL of our loving village support. Now that we KNOW about this lovely dog how can we in good conscience turn away? It is up to us IF Snowball will exit safely into the beautiful sunshine OR if she will end up ANOTHER dead Los Angeles Husky statistic breaking our hearts even further!!
