Light Up Your Life with Lucas! Meet happy and handsome Lucas - which means bringer of light - because he is certain to bring light and joy to his new person or family! This ~14 month old, 50 pound Heeler mix loves meeting people and is friendly with other well-balanced dogs. True to his age and breed, Lucas needs daily exercise and would benefit from an adopter who is active and will bring Lucas along to share in the adventure. Once exercised and back home, Lucas will settle in a comfy dog bed for a nap or quietly chew on a toy. He sleeps in a crate at night, eats well and has not had any accidents in the house. His adopter will need to establish routines that build on the good habits and basic manners he has developed while in foster. Additional basic training on leash and in the home will benefit both Lucas and his new person or family for many years to come. Questions about Lucas? Leave a message on his foster mom's answering machine: 928-554-4127 and she will return your call. He recently was neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. Lucas is now in foster with Blackhat Humane Society whose mission is to transform the lives of stray animals on the Navajo Nation.
