About Brewster

Calling all giant breed lovers! Brewster still needs a new home. Looking to rehome Brewster, our beautiful 6-year-old Daniff (half great dane, half mastiff). Brewster is a big sweet boy who loves hanging out with his humans, going on walks, and sunbathing. He is kennel trained and we are more than happy to supply his new owner with his kennel/bowls/toys. Although Brewster was raised with other dogs, he began to express some resource guarding with one of our other dominant male dogs in the pack. We have done extensive modifications in our home but have not been able to fully correct this behavior over the last 4 years. Due to his size and occasional reactivity with other dogs, and the addition of a new born baby, we are unable to keep him in our home. Brewster has NEVER shown any sign of human aggression and has NEVER shown any resource guarding with humans. We are heartbroken to let him go, but it is unfair to Brewster and our other dogs to keep them together any longer. If you reach out to us we can talk and we will give you more details about the situation. We are looking to rehome him to a person or family without other dogs, cats, or small children in the home. We are looking for someone who has experience with large dogs and is ready to have a new best friend. Brewster is a BIG BOY at 170 lbs. Brewster loves being with his people, he will follow you from room to room and loves to hang out. If you want to wake up at 4:00 AM or 11:00 AM, Brewster is fine with either. He will chill in bed or keep up with you whenever you are ready to go. Brewster has already had a gastropexy done, so low risk of GDV or bloat which is common in large breeds. We are looking for an 'open adoption' as this decision is breaking our hearts. We only ask that you send periodic pictures/videos and updates to let us know he is doing well. We are located just outside of Tampa, FL but are willing to travel to find Brewster the right home. Criteria: -Brewster must be the only dog. No cats. -Solid fence in a rural area or 5+ foot fence in a residential area. -Owner must have large dog experience. -We are looking for an 'open adoption.' -We would love Brewster to go to someone who is home often or works from home, he loves being with his people. Leaving us will take time, love, and patience. -Must own your home or provide documentation from your landlord that a large breed dog is okay with lease. -Home check required.
