About Rocky

Great Pyrenees mix
Age: Young Puppy
Sex: Male

Meet Rocky, a six-month-old, 30 lb. Great Pyrenees mix puppy with the softest white coat, floppy ears, heart nose, and gentle brown eyes. We think he will be around 60 lbs. once fully grown. He was found roaming the streets in Texas before being brought in by a good samaritan. He's now in a loving foster home in Connecticut awaiting his furever family. We don't know what Rocky's life looked like before coming to us but we believe it was one filled with neglect and abuse as he is very shy and fearful when meeting new people and other dogs. While timid, he does warm up to doggies much quicker than he does to people. Rocky currently lives with multiple dogs of all sizes and ages in his foster home and enjoys their company. Once he feels comfortable with you, he is a very sweet boy who enjoys cuddling and getting lots of pets and belly rubs. Rocky will even give you kisses when he's ready to - you just have to go at his pace. He loves to play with his toys independently or with his foster siblings. Rocky is more fearful of men and seems to be more comfortable with women. He'd be best suited in a family with teens and up. His ideal home would be a quiet/relaxed one with a woman and another dog as they help to build his confidence and make Rocky more comfortable. He MUST go to a home with a fenced yard. Being that he's young, Rocky will require someone who's going to be home often and commit to training. He is very food motivated (treats are the key to his heart) and a fast learner. Rocky is house trained and crate trained, although he doesn't enjoy being in there and would much rather be with you. His adoption fee is $450 and he is vaccinated, microchipped, and will be neutered on June 5th. Adopters must be local in order to return for that appointment.
