About Sasha

Adoption Fee: $250.0
Siberian Husky mix
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

Meet Sasha! Sasha is an owner surrender. We believe she is about 2 years old. She wandered onto the property of the owner as a 6 (ish) month old pup, starving with a chain around her neck and dragging behind her. They believe she was on her own for at least a week or more. This beauty is a playful, energetic pup who needs training in a single dog home of adults or older children. She has not been tested around younger children. Sasha is leash trained and does well in a crate for short periods of time. She was surrendered because when fighting with another dog, the owner got bit by her while breaking up the fight. The bite was likely accidental only, as she has shown NO signs of aggression with her current fosters or visitors. She also frequently chased their cats, so needs a kitty free home. Sasha does have other canine friends though! She would benefit immensely from canine playdates! She has a lot of energy, and thinks she's the boss, so placing her with dogs who will let her know when she's being too much, without crossing any lines, is important. This is also why canine playdates may be a better option than canine roommates! The exception may be her current best friends ... Karen and Willow. If you are looking for more than one dog, please check out their listings on RescueMe! These two girls fit her personality well and get along great. Sasha does like to mouth her people (she'll try to pull you with her mouth). This is a common trait with certain breeds and is not a sign of aggression, but a form of communication (well known for huskies!). However, working with a behavior specialist to ensure it is handled correctly would be beneficial. As with all working breeds, Sasha needs an outlet for her energy in a well-secured, escape proof area with room to run - as well as mental stimulation to reduce boredom. Please, only apply if you can give Sasha a fur-ever home. If you are interested in adopting Sasha, you must fill out an application first. You can go to www.LAFPOGCW.org to complete one, or message us here and we will email you a copy. You must fill out and submit an application to even be considered for a meet and greet. We do require references. Thank you!
