About Otter

Pointer mix
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Meet Otter! He's new around here. Otter was found as a stray who wandered up to a home here in Humboldt. His finders couldn't take on another dog, so he's a shelter pup now. Otter may look like a rough and tough hound dog, but we kid you not, he's a huge baby! If you want a dog that looks serious, but is actually a big teddy bear, Otter will happily be that dog for you, no questions asked! ? Otter got his name after staff and volunteers noticed he leads the way completely with his nose. He always has that nose in the air or pressed to the ground seeking out a nice treat. That's right! Otter is a total foodie, and would love to share popcorn with you while you two lay together and watch a good movie! He's about as laid back as they come until you whip the treats out, then he's wagging his little nubby tail like crazy. Otter is dog friendly, BUT does need to be separate from other dogs at feeding times. He's obviously been deprived from food at some point which has caused him to be a bit protective over his food when it comes to other dogs trying to come take a bite. Otter is a really good boy who has been dealt a pretty rough hand thus far, and is more than ready to turn the page to his next chapter! ? Otter weighs 45 pounds and is around two years old. He has been vaccinated, treated for internal/external parasites and has tested negative for heartworm disease in shelter.
