Meet the sweet and playful Hoagie! We love this guy! Hoagie initially arrived at the wrong shelter where he was at risk to be put to sleep due to overcrowding. Thankfully, it turns out he was a Humboldt dog who had been placed incorrectly, meaning we were able to save him from an untimely demise. We were able to learn that Hoagie has an owner who has decided not to reclaim him due to no fault of Hoagie's, so he is officially a HAS pup looking for a home! Don't let his size fool you! Hoagie is a total puppy at heart though his body seems to have grown. We're going to be honest, he is pretty high energy, but a lot of that could be due to a lack of things to do here at the shelter. When he has the opportunity, he loves to run and romp through the play yard. We imagine he would thrive in a home with some acreage he could spend time roaming. Hoagie is also very dog friendly, so we think the absolute best setup for him would be one where he has other dogs to play with! While he is energetic, he is still pretty polite and would be good for a home with kids. He did grow up around small children and did fine. Hoagie has had some experience with kennel training as he was kept indoors in his previous home, so he is more than prepared to come home with you! Hoagie weighs 48 pounds and is 10 months old currently. He has been vaccinated, treated for internal/external parasites and is negative for heartworm disease.
