Cooper is a 2.5 year old goldendoole who is the happiest an mist playful boy you will ever meet. My parter and I got Cooper while living in Boston in 2022. We shortly after found out we were expecting our first child and moved back to RI. He started having behavioral problems (getting into socks, toys, blankets) if not given enough attention, and become much more protective over me. But after having my baby and changes in the household, I am unable to care for Cooper the way he properly needs. On April 18th, I re-homed Cooper to a local couple. While in their home, Cooper bit the husbands hand while being 'handled'. They were concerned but chose to see how things went over time. I had encouraged the family to bring him to the vet before the groomers and medication would greatly help him there due to his anxiety. Unfortunately that did not happen and he had an episode at the groomers, where he almost bit the groomer while she was trying to cut around his face. Due to both occasions, the family brought Cooper to the East Providence Animal Shelter in East Providence, RI and is up for euthanasia on May 3rd. Cooper is a loving boy who needs structure and attention, and has never had a strong history with aggression until this recent change. He is NOT neutered, and while this wont 'fix' some of his anxiety, it will likely help with some testosterone driven tendencies. I am desperately seeking someone who is wiling to take Cooper in, even as a foster/short term solution, to remove him from the EP shelter and the treat of being put down. He deserves a happy life.
