Courtesy Posting: LANCASTER, CA (SO CAL) - ID #A5620353- 'BIXBY' - LA COUNTY SHELTER/LANCASTER - 24LB, APPROX 14 WK MALE CHOW (likely CHOW MIX) PUPPY- IN NEED OF CHOW SAVVY HOME OR FOSTER AND RESCUE. ADOPTIONS MUST BE IN PERSON. We are in need of finding a chow savvy forever home (NOT just someone who wants a cute chow puppy, or does not already have experience with the breed), or a foster and rescue is needed for this adorable, male chow or chow mix puppy who was found as a stray. We do not know his background or why he would have been dumped, but he is available to the right home for adoption. The shelter has fondly named him Bixby, estimates he is approximately 14 weeks old now. Since he is already 24 lbs so he may be larger than the average chow and we think is likely a mix. Please note the chow breed needs to be well socialized to avoid future problems - and hence why a chow savvy home or foster and rescue is requested. Please also consider that any puppy can be a lot of work, but that the responsibility of ownership is also for the remainder of a dog's life. Thus, please consider your next 15 years and if a puppy AND more importantly, a dog and its breed, size and temperament will be the right fit for your home for the many years ahead.
