About Solo

Temperament-Mild and fun. He is a very calm dog around the house but can run and play forever when outside and off leash. Health-He has been neutered and is current on all vaccinations Medical issues-He has a small cut on the tip of his right ear that has scabbed over. Behavior-Mild but free spirited. Solo is very calm around kids and strangers. He loves to sniff and lick to get to know you. He is very careful around little kids. He loves to sit, lay or sleep next to you. He will sit at attention by your feet and wait patiently for some love, like a scratch behind the ears, or tummy. Although he does encourage affection by nuzzling under your hand or licking it. He is very sociable and wants to be near you. When working on the computer or in the kitchen he will just quietly curl up and watch you work or take a nap. His favorite thing to do is go for walks, swim in ponds and play hide and seek. If he's off leash just call his name or whistle and he comes right back. Solo is very social with other dogs. He's very good at making friends with new dogs whether on a walk, off leash at a dog park or at a boarding kennel. He is highly intelligent, obedient, and fun. He's had limited interaction with cats and livestock but no doubt would do well with both. Skills-Solo is highly intelligent. He is house trained and crate trained. He will wimper to be let out and bark to be let in. If you provide a doggie doorbell or bell hung from the door he will learn how to use it. He uses doggie doors well. He is a great fetch companion. He is very quick to retrieve a ball that you've thrown and bring it right back to your feet. His favorite hobby is to swim. He will retrive a fake duck or ball that you throw in the water and bring it right back to you. He will do that all day long if you let him. He also plays hide and seek. If you throw a ball and run and hide he will retrieve the ball and then come and find you. He rides well in cars and the bed of trucks. He knows cues such as sit, shake, drop it, and leave it. Behavioral issues-He barks when someone is at the door and to come in from outside. Reason for surrender-Our kids have all moved out and we both work full time. Solo deserves love and attention that we just can't give him. He has been such an amazing part of our family for so long and now he needs us to find him a safe and loving home where he can get the love that he so freely gives.
