About Charlie

CHARLIE is a 3 year old, 12.4 pound cream Shih Tzu who found himself needing a new home after his owner died. LOCATION: Pensacola FL NEEDS: A family! He is friendly and easily adapts to new situations and people. His foster mom says he is an amazing little boy who just loves to be loved! Charlie seems to get along well with all the dogs in his foster home. He has not played with toys yet, but does play a little bit with his foster siblings. He would be fine as an only dog or with another small dog friend though. He has been around older kids and thinks they are ok, but he doesn't seek them out when they visit. Cats are an unknown. He enjoys car rides and walks well on a leash. A fenced yard is not necessary, but he does enjoy being outside on a nice day. He seems to be fully potty trained (but like many dogs, he may initially mark when he is first in a new home). Charlie has a good appetite and enjoys snack time. He can be a little barky when he can't find his person. At night he loves to sleep in the big bed with his foster family. He has been to the vet for a wellness check, is up to date on shots, neutered, heartworm negative, has had a 12-month ProHeart heartworm prevention shot, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. This sweetheart is looking for a new family to call his own! *We are located in Pensacola Florida. Puppies, dogs with pending vet appointments, and dogs with behavioral issues are only adoptable within a 1 hour drive to Pensacola. Most others we will consider within a 5-hour drive. We do not ship or transport our dogs. *We are a foster-based rescue and do not have a facility. Our dogs live in private homes in and around the Pensacola area until they are adopted.
