BIRDIE is a 16 week old female terrier mix puppy who was surrendered to us out of an unsafe situation. Based on her current weight we would guess that she'll be in the 15-20 pound range, fully grown. LOCATION: Pensacola FL NEEDS: A playful doggy friend and preferably a fenced yard. To meet BIRDIE and be considered for adoption you must first submit an ADOPTION APPLICATION using this link- https://form.jotform.com/232395363383057 or by filling out an application on our website- aplaceofhoperescue.com Birdie is a sweet and loving puppy who had been living in a very unsafe home. By the time she and her sister, Squirrel, who was surrendered with her, were 11 weeks old they had already been to an emergency vet- twice! Luckily for them a family member concerned about their safety convinced the owner to give them up. After hearing all the details about the living conditions and the dangers they were in, we agreed to bring them into rescue. Birdie is a little more quiet than her outgoing sister but has a happy puppy personality. She is friendly, playful, and affectionate. When she isn't playing she loves to be in a lap for snuggles. Birdie plays well with medium and small dogs and will be happiest in a home with a playmate. We have not had her around cats or kids, but are sure she would be good with kids to play and cuddle with. She is young enough to learn how to be good with a cat. Birdie loves playing with toys and exploring the yard with her foster siblings. She loves to play chase and is a fast little girl. She could learn how to walk on a leash but she would enjoy being able to run and play in a secure fence yard. She is working on house breaking and doing well with a good routine and positive reinforcement. She rides well in a car. When her foster mom is out of the home and cannot supervise the pups, she stays in a tall puppy pen. Whoever adopts her needs to keep an eye on the front door when going in and out, she and her sister are curious pups and have tried to dart out the front door of their foster home a few times to see what's on the other side! At night Birdie likes to cuddle under the covers in the big bed with her foster mom and foster siblings. She has been to a vet for a wellness check, has had three sets of puppy shots, is spayed, has been fecal tested, had her rabies and bordetella vaccines, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. Birdie is an adorable little girl looking for a home where she can get lots of play time and cuddles! *We are located in Pensacola Florida.
