About Squirrel

SQUIRREL is a 16 week old female terrier mix puppy surrendered to us out of an unsafe situation. Based on her current weight we estimate she'll be between 15 and 20 pounds fully grown. LOCATION: Pensacola FL NEEDS: She would love a home with a playful doggy friend and a fenced yard. They are not bonded and do not need to be adopted together!) A family member concerned for their safety contacted us to see if we could take them and then convinced their owner to give them up. Squirrel is a pretty typical puppy with a happy, puppy personality and a wiggly butt. She is very adventurous and curious and loves to give kisses. She enjoys attention and affection and will climb into a lap for snuggles. Squirrel plays well with medium and small dogs and will be happiest in a home with a playmate. We have not had her around kids, but are sure she would enjoy having children to play and cuddle with. Cats are an unknown but she's young enough to learn how to behave with them. Squirrel loves playing with toys, especially when her foster mom throws them! She likes to play chase outside with her foster siblings and sometimes digs small holes in the yard looking for mole crickets! She would love to have a home with a fenced yard where she can run and play to her heart's content. She is working on house breaking and doing well with a good routine and positive reinforcement. She rides well in a car. When her foster mom is out of the home and cannot supervise them, she stays in a tall puppy pen. Squirrel can jump and climb out of a three foot pen! Whoever adopts her needs to keep an eye on the front door when going in and out, she and her sister have tried to dart out the front door of their foster home a few times to see what's on the other side. At night Squirrel likes to cuddle under the covers in the big bed with her foster mom and foster siblings. She has been to a vet for a wellness check, has had three sets of puppy shots, is spayed, has been fecal tested, had her rabies and bordetella vaccines, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. Squirrel is a precious, outgoing little girl looking for a home where she can get lots of play time and snuggles! *We are located in Pensacola Florida. Puppies, dogs with pending vet appointments, and dogs with behavioral issues are only adoptable within a 1 hour drive to Pensacola. Most others we will consider within a 5-hour drive. We do not ship or transport our dogs. *We are a foster-based rescue and do not have a facility. Our dogs live in private homes in and around the Pensacola area until they are adopted.
