URGENT FOSTER / FOSTER-TO-ADOPT NEEDED *** No Children under the age of 14 *** *** No Other Cats *** Tawnie is a BEAUTIFUL 2 & 1/2 year-old silver female Bengal with stunning rosettes. Tawnie was an 'emergency surrender' who we brought into our program approximately 6 weeks ago. We knew absolutely nothing about her, and agreed to take her into foster care due to her owner having a very serious emergency back surgery. When Tawnie arrived at her foster home - we learned quickly that she was extremely under-socialized, and would need a lot of patience and time to settle in and adjust. Our foster is very experienced working with cats who need extra care re: socialization, however the home is quite busy with other cats and other pets. We believe that Tawnie will truly blossom in a quieter environment. Tawnie has mink soft fur. Like most Bengals, she doesn't like being picked up and can get over-stimulated when she is asking for pets. So, she needs someone who can read her body language carefully and give her space when she asks for it. We are looking for an experienced Bengal foster-to-adopt situation with Tawnie. She will need a lot of patience and love to help her become the loving cat we know she can be. We do not think she has been around children so the children must be older. Tawnie needs to be THE ONLY CAT (pet) in the home. Her foster family tells us she is not friendly towards other cats and when she is near other cats, she feels very threatened and runs away and hides. Tawnie has not been around dogs. Tawnie is food-motivated and was a little bit overweight when she first got her, due to being on a dry food diet. Her foster has switched her to wet food mixed with a small amount of raw food, hoping to transition her to a raw diet (you can learn more about that here: https://bengalrescue.org/resources/feeding-your-cat/). She likes fowl and beef formulas, over fish-based proteins. Tawnie truly wants to connect with humans, however she will hiss and growl sometimes when over-stimulated. We know she will be shy at first, so she will need to be in a room where she cannot hide under things and can be reached easily. She likes cat trees and loves to observe her environment from above. The foster is trying different toys to see what she likes. Otherwise, Tawnie is a healthy cat (we have all of her medical records).
