She is sweet with all people, but is very obsessed with her, 'one' in the family that she chooses to be, 'hers'. She does not bite nor growl, but she's smart enough to play, 'head games' with anyone in the home (husband/wife/partner) to be the psychological Alpha Female. She would be great with a single man, she knows hunting and thrives on being outside, but when not outside, she will be on your lap/by your side/adoring, 'Her Master(male or female)', at ALL TIMES. AGAIN, SHE IS NOT AGGRESSIVE TOWARDS OTHERS, JUST POSSESSIVE OF, 'HER HUMAN'. We warn that as a trained hunting Beagle, she believes small dogs are squirrels, so we caution to always have her harnessed and leashed, and if you choose, muzzled. Her hunting instinct is innate. If a smaller dog is in her general vicinity, she turns into a hunting dog Quick. My son and I have loved, cared for, and adored Dixie Darlin' for over 3 years, but we are moving to be closer to my son's high school and we have a Section 8 HUD voucher, and few, if any, rentals in the Cape Coral/Ft. Myers FL area accept pets on Section 8. Dixie has been under the Veterinary Care of Pine Island (FL) Animal Clinic where she just received her Bordetella, DHHP, Rabies Vaccination, and Heartworn Exam-Antigen Tests on 04/17/2024. Dixie has a clean bill of health, except for infrequent minor seizures. Dixie is not spayed. We do not have, 'Papers' on her being full-Beagle, but we know, she is FULL BRED BEAGLE by what we know of her prior owner's propensity to hunt with her in Kentucky/Tennessee. She's a sweetie that we pray will find her next supportive, loving home, as our hearts and home welcomed her when she was a scared pup coming off a demanding hunter that bred her young, and ran her hard.
